About
The engineering practice of Zenith Associates
Zenith Engineering carries a building from idea to occupancy: the structure that holds it up, the services that make it live, the numbers that keep it honest, and the site discipline that makes the drawings real.
Where we come from
Our parent practice, Zenith Associates, has designed homes, commercial buildings and hospitality projects across Sri Lanka since 2014 — an integrated studio where architecture, engineering and interiors sit under one roof. Zenith Engineering is that engineering capability, given its own name and its own front door.
The split changes nothing about how we work and everything about who can reach us: you no longer need an architecture commission to hire our engineers. Contractors, developers, homeowners with their own architects, banks needing assessments — the engineering room is now open to all of them.
Why one office matters
Most construction problems are born in the gaps between consultants — the duct that meets a beam, the BOQ that priced an older drawing, the site query three firms answer differently. Our structural engineers, MEP designers and quantity surveyors share one office and check each other's drawings before a contractor ever sees them. Issues surface on paper, where they are cheap.
How we work
- Engineering enters early. The cheapest fix is the one made on the drawing board — we push to be in the room before the design is frozen.
- Drawings match calculations. Detailing is done in-house, so what the bar bender receives is what the analysis justified.
- The site is held to the drawings. Reinforcement inspected before every pour; materials approved against specification; shortcuts stopped before they are buried.
- The numbers stay honest. Estimates before commitment, valuations against real progress, final accounts settled line by line.
What we do
Structural Engineering
Analysis, design and detailing of reinforced concrete and steel structures, from single houses to multi-storey buildings.
MEP Engineering
Mechanical, electrical and plumbing design — HVAC, power, lighting, water supply and drainage — coordinated with the structure from day one.
Quantity Surveying
Bills of quantities, cost estimates, tender documents, interim valuations and final accounts — cost control from first sketch to last payment.
Construction Project Management
Programme, procurement, coordination and reporting — one accountable point between the owner and everything the project needs.
Construction Supervision
Independent eyes on site — inspections, quality control and contract administration so what is built matches what was designed.
Structural Assessment & Retrofit
Investigation of existing buildings — cracks, settlement, capacity for new loads — with retrofit design where strengthening is needed.
Two offices, one standard
Colombo 05 and Matale — covering projects across Sri Lanka with the same drawings-first, site-checked discipline.
